Sedgewood Commons is a 95-bed Alzheimer's care community located in the beautiful countryside of Falmouth, Maine, approximately five miles from the city of Portland. We specialize in caring and providing services for people with Alzheimer's or dementia related illness.
Our specially designed living areas are self contained, secure and provide multiple walking routes for those who wander. The strength of our programs stem from the partnership we build with our residents and their families. We encourage our residents to make choices, be active as possible and remain independent. Within a homelike atmosphere, Sedgewood Commons provides residential, long-term and skilled nursing levels of care. Our Adult Day Services program gives family caregivers some respite during the daytime hours, and is offered seven days a week. Sedgewood Commons brings warm, respectful and nurturing support to people throughout the course of their illness. Our caregivers use the ""Best Friends"" approach to Alzheimer's care, which focuses on the resident's life story to stimulate interest and direct attention.
