Sedgewood Commons offers an environment for those struggling with Alzheimer's Disease and other related memory loss disorders.
Staffed by professionals with special training in supporting and working with memory-impaired people, Sedgewood Commons quickly becomes a new home to residents.
The community is divided into three secure but connected "units". We offer an assisted living house and Nursing/Skilled Nursing houses that are set up for the individuals level of care needs. This allows residents to move from assisted living to the nursing houses as their need for care increases.
Hawthorne House is an Assisted Living residence, where community members join in many activities, receive guests and dine in their unit. All the rooms surround a central living area that features a small kitchenette, three common dining spaces, and sitting areas for activity programs, watching television and quiet times for relaxation. Residents enjoy access to their own secure garden. Hawthorne house offers 24 hour nursing supervision and assistance for people with cognitive difficulties and physical limitations.
Longfellow House and Millay House also feature secure gardens, circular walking paths, private and semi-private rooms facing an interior court that includes dining spaces and gathering rooms. Longfellow and Millay Houses offer 24 hour nursing care for those with cognitive and physical difficulties. The nursing staff keeps residents secure and comfortable, while at the same time encouraging socialization and interaction.
